28-year-old must be sold: Three things we learned from Everton in first Allardyce win

Sam Allardyce will be thrilled at winning his first game as Everton boss defeating Huddersfield Town 2-0 on Saturday.

The former England manager must have wondered what he left himself in for after the first-half though, as the Toffees were woeful – as were their opponents.

However, the second-half was a different story as Everton quickly took the lead and looked like a rejuvenated side.

The win means Everton are catapulted into the top half of the table, banishing early relegation worries.

The victory against Huddersfield Town also means that the Toffees have won two in a row ahead of their meeting with bitter rivals Liverpool next weekend.

It’s two clean sheets in a row too – and that will please Allardyce immensely. However, the defence will get one of the sternest tests of the season next as Everton play bitter rivals Liverpool next.

The Huddersfield game also threw up a lot of talking points for Allardyce to break down tomorrow morning.
