24-y/o must be ousted for rest of season: Three things learned about Liverpool from win v Roma

Jury is still out on Karius

Yes, Loris Karius has improved – but there was certainly plenty of room for it – and yes, he is the undisputed number one following an almost weekly handover of the keeper’s jersey earlier in the campaign. But Manuel Neuer, he is not. Karius almost made a monumental blunder with the score at 0-0 when he misjudged an Alexander Kolarov long-ranger heading straight for him, and finger-tipped it on to the crossbar when he could have put his cap on it. The German doesn’t exude authority, and his command of the box is hit-or-mix. There is still the sense that he is a good number two, rather than a main man.
