Three things learned about Newcastle v Arsenal: Benitez faith results in stunning transformation

Newcastle United managed to end eight years of hurt and take a massive step towards securing their mathematical Premier League safety with victory over Arsenal at St James’ Park.

The Magpies had not tasted victory over the Gunners since an away win back in 2010, while their last three points at home over Arsene Wenger’s side came 13 years ago.

However goals from Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie turned the game on its head after Alexandre Lacazette’s opener, and pushed the north east side over the 40 point barrier, a mark which should see them remain in the top flight for another year.

So what can Newcastle fans take away from what was their fourth consecutive victory, following wins over Southampton, Huddersfield and Leicester?

Here, Football Insider picks out three things learned from the impressive result on Tyneside, including one man who has undergone a stunning transformation thanks to unwavering faith from Rafael Benitez.
