Wolves moved 11 points clear at the top of the Championship table with as they strolled to a 2-0 victory against Derby at Molineux on Wednesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men scored six minutes into each half as Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves both managed to breach Scott Carson’s goal to pile more misery on the Rams, whose play-off hopes took a huge hit in the West Midlands.

Jota opened the scoring for Wolves just minutes after kick-off.

The Portuguese attacker made the most of a disjointed Derby defence and was found in acres of space by Willy Boly just outside the six-yard box.

There will still work for Jota to do to beat Carson, but he made it look so easy as he calmly slotted the ball into the net.

After the break, Wolves continued to apply pressure before Neves scored a goal of the season contender with a beautiful volley.

Derby cleared a corner, but it fell straight to the feet of Neves, who touched the ball once before volleying it into the top corner of the net.

Wanderers continued to control the rest of the game, breezing their way to an impressive three points.
