Three things learned about Celtic in win v Aberdeen: 24-year-old must start every week

Tactical decision spot on

Celtic

Celtic’s tactics were spot on against Aberdeen and that has laid down a real marker to the rest of the Premiership that the Hoops are on the charge for another unbeaten league title.

Rodgers took the decision to play three at the back with Mikael Lustig, Bitton and Boyata.

Bitton flourished in that role as he had his best game of the season, spraying passes out of the backline throughout the 90 minutes while Tierney was allowed to press forward more into a a winger role.

The Scotland international was phenomenal, scoring a belter of a goal before an amazing run which led to his assist for Dembele.

Celtic overloaded the midfield and dominated and that was largely down to Rodgers’ decision to switch up his tactics.

Going forward, that should be his system in Premiership games, but he needs to go back to his standard 4-2-3-1 or even a 4-3-3 when Bayern Munich travel to Glasgow next week.
