Poch must axe one, bring one in from cold: Three things we learned from Tottenham win v Stoke

Dele Alli has to improve

Dele Alli has had a difficult start to the season and the attacking midfielder endured another frustrating afternoon for Tottenham at Wembley. After showing glimpses of his talent in the Champions League in midweek, the 21-year-old would have been hoping for an improved performance in the Premier League, but things did not go to plan. The England international was by far the worst Spurs player on the pitch during the first-half. His first touch was often poor and he gave the ball away far too many times. An improved second-half performance and assist for Son Heung-min would have eased his disappointment, but overall it was an afternoon to forget for the youngster. He is currently a long way off the levels he and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino know he can achieve – he should be dropped for his own sake.
