What Benitez has achieved at St James’ Park this season can be called miraculous.
He has barely spent a money in comparison to other Premier League sides but has been able to drag Newcastle to safety despite Mike Ashley’s wallet being well and truly closed.
Pep Guardiola will surely win the award, but he was expected to win the league with that squad.
There could also be cases made for Sean Dyche and Jurgen Klopp, but Benitez has to be in the mix for what he has achieved.
