Darlow’s fate must be sealed
Brought into the starting line up a couple of weeks ago in place of Rob Elliot, the former Nottingham Forest man has not shown any reason why he deserves to remain in the starting XI over the past two games.
He was potentially at fault for one of Leicester City’s goals in the 3-2 defeat, while he was certainly culpable for Everton’s opener on Wednesday.
He dropped the ball from what seemed to be a simple save which resulted in Wayne Rooney poking home from close range.
The Magpies cannot afford mistakes considering their form and this has got to be the nail in the coffin of Darlow’s time in the first team and perhaps even his Newcastle career as a whole.
In other Newcastle United transfer news, it is reported that a bid has been placed for one of the club’s top attacking targets.
