Rose fails to rise – deserves the axe
Dropped completely from the side which were defeated by Arsenal on Saturday, in somewhat controversial circumstances, Danny Rose made a return to the starting XI in Germany, replacing Ben Davies in the line up.
The England international has failed to live up to his Welsh counterpart’s displays this season, and Tuesday was no different.
While he can be a potent threat going forward, that was nullified by the Dortmund defence, and he was caught out time and again at the back, including for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opening goal.
Spurs play a currently managerless West Brom side on Saturday, and with Davies’ high quality breathing down Rose’s neck, the English defender must be axed after this display.
In other Tottenham news, Martin Keown has said the club are risking a major break up of their top stars.
