Goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez ensured that Tottenham slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Tuesday.

The English striker scored a sublime chip over the head of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, before Riyad Mahrez curled home an excellent strike to send the home side 2-0 up at half time.

Despite Harry Kane netting a second half strike from a well weighted through ball from returning star Erik Lamela, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were unable to find an equaliser, meaning they have no failed to win four of their last five league outings.

It also gives the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea the chance to extend their lead over the Lilywhites in the top four, with Spurs now sitting in fifth after their disappointing recent form.
