Lazy star must be axed: Three things learned about Tottenham from win v Crystal Palace
Possession proves frustrating for Pochettino
While Spurs saw the majority of the possession, they struggled to use it effectively to break down the Crystal Palace defence in what is becoming a feature of the club’s performances.
They dominated possession against Swansea and Burnley, which both finished as draws, while were limited with how much they saw the ball against Real Madrid, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, all of which resulted in comfortable victories for Tottenham.
Pochettino needs to figure out how to get his side playing well both with and without the ball, as teams will begin to adapt and frustrate his men, as the Eagles did so at Wembley.
