Tottenham lacking key to success: Three things learned from win v West Ham

Comment by Russell Edge

Tottenham will be glad to have heard the final whistle on Saturday as they narrowly held on to secure a 3-2 win over West Ham at the London Stadium.

A Harry Kane double and a Christian Eriksen strike put the away side 3-0 up, before West Ham hit back through Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate to leave the match on a knife edge.

Dele Alli was guilty of passing up several clear cut opportunities, and his profligacy could have cost Tottenham the victory.

However, despite an late aerial bombardment from the Hammers, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were able to see the match out and collect the three points which sees them hit third spot in the Premier League table.

So what did fans learn from this nerve wracking victory?
