Leeds United made it two Championship wins from three this week, with a convincing 2-0 win over Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.
It was a complete team performance from Thomas Christiansen’s side, who bounced back from their 4-1 defeat to Wolves in midweek with two first-half goals in a feisty Yorkshire derby.
Samuel Saiz put the visitors ahead with a low drive midway through the first half and Ezgjan Alioski doubled their lead with a superb curling effort on the stroke of half-time.
Goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald did not have a save to make until the final minute of normal time, as Leeds totally dominated. Caleb Ekuban could have added a third in the second half, but hit the side of the post after being sent through by Pablo Hernandez.
The results sees the Whites move up to eighth place in the Championship table, ahead of Nottingham Forrest and level on points with Middlesbrough.
