Rangers got back to winning ways following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Hibs as they eased past Partick Thistle 2-0 at Firhill in the Scottish Premiership.

Goals by Josh Windass and James Tavernier secured the three points for the Light Blues to take them within three points of second-placed Aberdeen in the table.

The Ibrox giants struggled to get going in the early part of the game before going up through the gears and taking the game to their hosts.

Top goalscorer Alfredo Morelos was dropped by the Gers and was replaced by Jason Cummings in the starting XI, although the Gers looked comfortable without the Colombian striker leading the line.

Gers boss Graeme Murty will be happy with the way his side improved as the game went on but will surely have some concerns over the Light Blues’ sluggish start.
