Ever present among three Tottenham stars who must be axed after Apoel win

Davinson Sanchez

Pochettino named a back three of Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez on Tuesday, and it was the latter who was a weak link .

The summer signing was not at the races as he made a series of errors, including a slip and then a poorly executed tackle which led to Apoel striking the crossbar.

He looked slow in possession, having been caught on the ball once or twice by the Cypriot side’s players, while he was also beaten by a lack of pace.

In all honesty the back three did not work for Tottenham, and Pochettino should consider reverting to a back four against Huddersfield.

If that were the case, then Sanchez deserves to be axed, with Jan Vertonghen, suspended for the Champions League tie, returning in his place.
