Tim Sherwood expects ‘queue a mile long’ for Liverpool, Tottenham target who reminds him of Eberechi Eze
Liverpool and Tottenham are tipped to face tough competition for the signing of one of the Premier League’s most sought-after talents.
Tim Sherwood has already compared the player to one of Mikel Arteta‘s new stars, with Eberechi Eze settling in nicely at Arsenal after arriving from Crystal Palace during the summer.
With 26 points from their opening 11 games, Arsenal are leading the Premier League title race, currently four points ahead of Man City, and Eze has certainly played his role in that success.
Several stars are taking the Premier League by storm, though, and one of them is Bournemouth‘s Antoine Semenyo, who is attracting interest from multiple clubs in England’s top division.

Tim Sherwood expects a huge battle for Antoine Semenyo
Both Spurs and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Semenyo, and speaking on Sky Sports (17 November), Sherwood said: “He needs to keep himself fit, doesn’t he? There will be a queue a mile long for this boy. He’s top drawer, really a wonderful player.
“He doesn’t have to settle into the Premier League, and you know what you’re gonna get. The only question mark would be, it’s okay playing for Bournemouth and Bristol City, but can you play for Liverpool?
“Can you play for Tottenham when the spotlight is on? Can you play for Arsenal, you know? He reminds me of… His career is a bit like Eze. A little bit. And he’s stepped up at Arsenal. He’s been outstanding.
“There’s never a 100 per cent sure thing, but I think he’s the nearest you’re ever going to come to it,” which is very high praise ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
Bournemouth will need to fend off multiple European giants
Bournemouth will be holding out for £75million when the upcoming transfer windows roll around, especially as the winger continues to impress at the Vitality Stadium.
He already has six goals and three assists in 12 games so far this season, having notched 19 goal contributions last term, and has quickly become one of the most feared attackers in the division.
A lot of Liverpool fans see Semenyo as Mohamed Salah‘s successor at Anfield, but if Arne Slot is going to add him to the squad soon, it might take more than just £75m to secure his signature.
He would certainly improve Thomas Frank‘s squad, with fans not impressed by Brennan Johnson this season, but it remains to be seen which clubs would be willing to splash out on the talent.
