Tim Sherwood tells Tottenham ace: Your head will get turned by this club

By Amir Mir

Tim Sherwood has told Tottenham ace, Dele Alli, that if a club like Real Madrid come in for him then his head will get turned.

The 21-year-old sensation has been in blistering form for his team this season, notching up an incredible 20 goals in all competitions.

His performances during this campaign saw him named the PFA Young Player of the Year for a second consecutive season.

Alli moved to White Hart Lane during the summer of 2015 when Tottenham paid £5million to League One outfit MK Dons for his services.

Speaking to beIN Sports, former Spurs manager Sherwood offered his thoughts on Alli and why he couldn’t turn down Madrid.

“The only club that might turn his head is always the club that plays in white like they did with Gareth Bale and Luka Modric,” said Sherwood as posted by a Football YouTube channel.

“If you are Real Madrid, you are a young boy like Dele Alli, no matter when Real Madrid come for you or possibly Barcelona. I think your head gets turned. That opportunity you cannot let it pass you by.”

In recent season the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric have moved from Tottenham to La Liga giants Madrid.

Wales international Bale was the most recent player from north London to move to the Bernabeu when he made a then-world record switch in 2013.

Bale has since gone on to win a Copa del Rey and two European Cups and he could also lift the La Liga title this season.

Over the course of the campaign, Alli has played 32 league matches for his side where he has scored 16 goals from the middle of the park.

He will be looking to add to that tally when his team take on their bitter rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
