Tino Livramento’s ‘top priority’ revealed amid news on Man City move
Tino Livramento is fully focused on recovering from his injury and returning to the pitch with both Newcastle and England despite whispers about his future.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Man City would love to sign the 23-year-old, but nothing is imminent.
Pep Guardiola is set to prioritise the addition of a new right-back after Kyle Walker‘s move to Burnley which has left them short of options in his position.
Livramento has quickly become one of the most highly-rated full-backs in the country, and remains a key part of Eddie Howe‘s plans and ambitions for Newcastle.
However, he is currently suffering from a knee injury sustained during Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, and remains focused on his recovery.

Tino Livramento’s Newcastle priority revealed
Football Insider revealed last month that Newcastle are doing everything to keep Livramento at the club despite interest from top clubs across Europe.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that any speculation about the right-back’s future will be cast aside during his recovery.
“The top priority for Livramento is getting his fitness back,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s had this knee injury he picked up earlier in the season, and he’s focused on getting back fit and getting back to playing regularly.
“Any talk about his future whether it’s staying at Newcastle or going to Man City will be put to the side for now because he isn’t playing games.
“At his best, he’s a real asset to Newcastle and England, and he would be a real asset to Man City if he was to make that move because he’s that good.

“But like I said, I wouldn’t expect that to be at the front of his mind at the moment.
“He wants to get back to playing for Newcastle and back in the England squad, and then potentially we’ll see what happens from there.”
Newcastle make Livramento contract plan at St James’ Park
Football Insider revealed on 26 October that Newcastle are planning contract talks with Livramento, with new sporting director Ross Wilson leading the push.
However, Livramento has long been linked with a move to the Etihad, and their interest in not thought to have faded, with a move still possible in 2026.
That has increased the Magpies’ urgency in contract talks, as they aim to deter interest from elsewhere while committing his long-term future to the club.

Brown told Football Insider last month that Livramento is happy at Newcastle and would be willing to put pen to paper on a contract extension.
Livramento was stretchered off against Arsenal, and while there were concerns he may have suffered a significant blow, there are no long-term concerns about his fitness.
