‘Todd Boehly could agree ownership change after stunning Chelsea twist’
Chelsea’s owners are under increasing pressure at Stamford Bridge after failing to deliver on-field success since taking over three years ago.
BlueCo, which is spearheaded by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali’s Clearlake Capital, has spent around £1.5billion on new signings since purchasing the club for £4.25bn from Roman Abramovich in May 2022.
The relationship between the Stamford Bridge chiefs was understood to have deteriorated earlier this season, with the Chelsea owners reportedly looking to buy each other out.
The takeover talk has gone quiet in recent months as Chelsea go in pursuit of a return to Champions League football.
The London giants currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, with five Champions League spots on offer to top-flight clubs this season.
Meanwhile, they are well placed to reach the Conference League final after securing a 4-1 victory over Djurgarden in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
Enzo Maresca’s side would be guaranteed a Europa League place for next season if they can win the Conference League.
Chelsea would also bank around £20million in prize money if they get their hands on the European trophy.

Liam Rosenior could hand Chelsea owners new issue
BlueCo also owns Strasbourg after securing a £65million takeover of the club in 2023.
The French side finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season, but they are on course for a much higher finish this time around.
Strasbourg appointed Liam Rosenior as manager last July following his exit from Hull City at the end of last season.
The 40-year-old now has his side firmly in contention for a European place as they sit seventh in Ligue 1, just two points behind third-place Lille.
The top three clubs in Ligue 1 automatically qualify for the Champions League, while fourth will enter the qualifying rounds.
Fifth is worth automatic qualification for the Europa League and a sixth-place finish books a spot in the final round of Conference League qualifiers.
Meanwhile, a Conference League spot could be on offer to seventh place if champions PSG beat Reims in the French Cup final later this month.
That presents a potential issue for BlueCo and Chelsea as Uefa’s rules prohibit clubs from being controlled by the same owners or directors from competing in the same European competition.
That means if Chelsea and Strasbourg both qualify for the Champions League, only one of those sides will be permitted to compete in it, with the other team dropping down to the Europa League.

Chelsea could match Nottingham Forest after Evangelos Marinakis move
Evangelos Marinakis has faced a similar issue as Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos are both set to qualify for European football this season.
It has been revealed Marinakis has now ceased control of Forest following filings on Companies House earlier this week.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are level on points with Chelsea in sixth place, while Olympiacos are on course to claim the Greek Super League title.
Boehly and his fellow Chelsea owners could look to take similar action over the coming weeks to prevent their two sides from potentially missing out on a Champions League spot.
However, they have known this has been a distinct possibility for several months and are no doubt prepared to act accordingly if need be.
