‘Todd Boehly in serious Chelsea trouble after Raheem Sterling latest at Arsenal’
Enzo Maresca is unlikely to be counting down the days until Raheem Sterling returns to Chelsea from his season-long loan at Arsenal this summer.
Despite an incredible seven-year spell with Man City, lifting four Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola, the winger’s career has taken a nosedive since leaving the Etihad.
The Catalonian has since welcomed flying forwards Jeremy Doku and Savinho to the club, both of whom have experienced a far better season this term than Sterling despite the obvious issues in Manchester.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that those at Arsenal have been worried by Sterling’s performances this season, having been able to score just one goal since last summer.
Clinton Morrison has even suggested that Mikel Arteta is using the Arsenal loanee’s poor cameo against Leicester City against him, and many cannot shake that feeling after the 1-1 draw with Man United on Sunday 9 March.

Mikel Arteta leaves Raheem Sterling on Arsenal bench v Man United
Sterling was a substitute for the fourth consecutive game when travelling to Old Trafford this weekend, with Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri given the nod on the flanks instead.
On this occasion, however, the experienced forward did not even make it off the bench, which was extremely telling, given that the Gunners were chasing a one-goal deficit against the Red Devils.
Declan Rice‘s long-range strike got Arteta’s side back into the game, but with Liverpool now 15 points clear at the top of the table, Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes look dead in the water.
It is clear that Arteta has no belief in the winger, and if he now isn’t even getting off the bench late on that will only put other clubs off signing him from Chelsea once the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season.

Todd Boehly set to cost Chelsea another £30million+ with failing winger
Todd Boehly might now seriously be regretting handing the 30-year-old a five-year contract when he joined from Man City in the summer of 2022.
According to The Sun, Sterling’s contract at Stamford Bridge sees him earning a whopping £325,000 a week, equating to £33,800,000 over the next two years.

And that is exactly how long the player will have left on his deal once he returns to Chelsea at the end of the season, and given his performances across London, it will be no easy feat to get him off the books.
The Blues’ long-term contract plans look to be coming back to bite the club in a very expensive way.
Sterling is one of few expensive veteran players brought in on huge contracts since the takeover from Roman Abramovich, and despite moderate success in Blue prior to Maresca’s arrival he looks to have virtually no chance to get back into the Italian’s plans.
But having fared even worse under Arteta it is hard to see any club being convinced to stump up what it would cost to take him on judging by this season’s output.
