‘Todd Boehly is completely ignoring Chelsea fans – he doesn’t seem to care’
Chelsea will return to the Champions League next term after securing a fourth-place finish this term – and won a bonus trophy in the Uefa Conference League.
Fresh off the back of that double achievement, the London giants have announced a rise in season ticket prices for the second consecutive year.
Every season ticket is set to rise by at least 6.8% and senior discounts will also be reduced for the 2025-26 campaign.
Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has already faced widespread criticism for his involvement with unauthorised platform Vivid Seats, who facilitate the resale of Premier League match tickets at up to £20,000.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has accused Boehly of “ignoring” fans, and insisted Chelsea’s hierarchy will see “more organised fan backlash” this season.
‘Chelsea owners are not fan-friendly’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed the Blues’ ownership aren’t “fan-friendly” and “don’t seem to care” about supporters.
Chelsea’s Conference League win marked the club’s first trophy since Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over in 2022.

When asked if Chelsea’s owners could alienate the fanbase, Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “You’d think so.
“But the Chelsea fans seem to complain, and Todd Boehly just ignores them and carries on anyway.
“Whether it’s his involvement with the ticketing agency or this, these owners just don’t seem fan-friendly.
“They don’t seem to care.
“Chelsea’s game in the Conference League, the semi-final, was the warning. It was a very poor attendance.
“Quite rightly, the Chelsea fans are starting to vote with their pocket.
“Just because it’s a west London club doesn’t mean everyone has the money for this.
“I think they may see more organised fan backlash this season. They’re pushing the envelope a bit too far.”

Chelsea get Leao boost this summer
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (29 May) that Chelsea are set for a boost in their long-term pursuit of AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer.
The Blues are again on the hunt for a new left-sided winger this summer after sending Jadon Sancho back to Man United following his loan.
Sources say they could have a “window of opportunity” to sign Leao with Milan failing to qualify for any kind of European football for the 2025-26 campaign.
