Todd Cantwell drops shock Rangers return hint in ‘massive’ new message
Todd Cantwell has suggested he could return to Rangers ‘one day’ just three months after leaving the club.
The 26-year-old was frozen out by Philippe Clement and forced to train with the reserves alongside fellow attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi.
Unlike the Romanian, who has since returned to the first team, Cantwell finally got his move, joining Blackburn for a reported fee of just £500,000.
Cantwell has managed to find some form at Blackburn, providing two assists in his seven Championship starts as the Lancashire club sit in ninth, just three points from the play-off spots.
Todd Cantwell plotting return to ‘special club’ Rangers
Cantwell was a standout performer in his first six months at Ibrox, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
Rangers fans never really took to him, however, and when performances dropped, Cantwell’s antics off the pitch frustrated them even further.
Still, the Glasgow club have made a lasting impression on Cantwell, who took to Instagram to suggest he would like to return.

This latest message comes as quite a shock considering Cantwell’s fractured relationship with both the manager and fans.
Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea, with Rangers sitting in third, nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premier League trophy.
