Tom Davies offer expected after confirmed Everton news - pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed he “expects” Tom Davies to get a one-year contract extension at Everton despite a new injury blow.
The former Tottenham and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted he “likes” the 24-year-old midfielder “as a player”.
Everton boss Frank Lampard confirmed via club media on Thursday (24 November) that Davies could be out of training for four weeks after suffering a knee injury.
The former England Under-21 star picked up the problem during a training session in the Toffees’ mid-season tour of Australia – and was sent back to England for assessment.
Davies, who is currently out of contract at the end of the season, has made eight appearances so far this season.
He has made 167 appearances in total for Everton since coming through the club’s ranks to make his senior debut in 2016.

Hutton insisted “it would be a shame” to have his last season at Goodison Park marred by injury.
He told Football Insider: “He’s been loyal to the club and come through the ranks.
“He’s had to bide his time to get into the side – but I like him as a player.
“There’s nothing worse as a footballer when you’re running out of contract and get an injury in a nothing game which leaves you out for months.
“I would expect that Everton would do the right thing, and just give him at least another year.
“It would be a shame to have his time at the club come to an end like this.”
