Two ex Tottenham stars to convince midfielder to quit White Hart Lane - report

By Alex Taylor

Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore will try to convince Ryan Mason to quit Tottenham for Hull, according to reports.

The Sun claims that manager Steve Bruce will use the former Spurs duo to help lure Mason away from White Hart Lane this summer.

It is said that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for the youngster and could sell Mason for £10million.

The 25-year-old central midfielder lost his place through injury last season and subsequently failed to reclaim his starting spot in the side as Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele emerged as Mauricio Pochettino’s favoured duo.

Mauricio Pochettino signed Victor Wanyama for £11million last month, leaving Mason even further down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

The report has also linked Stoke and Borussia Dortmund with a possible move for the former Millwall loanee.

Mason featured 22 times in the Premier League for Tottenham in 2015-16 but was mainly used as a substitute, coming off the bench on 14 occasions.

The Spurs man ailed to produce much in the attacking third, scoring just two goals and failing to provide a single assist all season.

The player still has four years left on his current deal under Pochettino but a move away from north London could prove to be mutually beneficial to both the player and the club.

In other Tottenham news, Holland international Vincent Janssen’s relationship with AZ Alkmaar has hit a new low after the striker was banned from making a planned television appearance.
