Wolves humiliated Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough side at the Riverbank in what was a massive test for Nuno’s side.
Boro had been in good form under the former West Brom boss and were expected to put up a tough resistance to the West Midlands club’s attack.
However they were simply unstoppable and smashed two goals in the space of five minutes in the first-half as Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro got on the scoresheet.
Patrick Bamford got a late consolation but the three points would go on to set Wanderers on their way to promotion.
