Top Source reveals truth about Van de Ven exit whispers and if he really could join Liverpool
Micky van de Ven has been one of the standout players for Tottenham this season but there have been recent rumours linking him with a move away.
The defender has started every single Premier League game for Thomas Frank’s side this term, chipping in with three goals in the top-flight.
Van de Ven also scored a goal of the season contender as Tottenham beat FC Copenhagen 4-0 in the Champions League.
Receiving the ball on the edge of his own box, the 24-year-old ran the length of the pitch before finishing low past goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski.

Micky van de Ven to become highest-paid Tottenham player
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that rumours linking Van de Ven to Liverpool are false.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that it is simply just agent talk, to try and give the Dutch defender an edge in contract negotiations.
Van de Ven’s current deal at Tottenham runs until the summer of 2029, but he could be set for a wage increase after his recent form.
Wyness added that he expects the centre-back to become the highest-paid player at Spurs.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Media stories often come up when contract negotiations are on, and here we are again.
“I’ve seen the stories floating around. Micky van de Ven, the perfect replacement for Virgil van Dijk. So once again, Liverpool are being used as a stalking horse. I don’t expect that to happen.
“I see Micky van de Ven probably becoming probably the highest-paid Spurs player. And I think he is certainly gonna be part of the future going forward. I think there’d be uproar at the Spurs stadium if he were to go.
“So I do expect him to sign a contract renewal and to get paid what he’s worth. We’ve seen some great things from Micky van de Ven recently. Always a talented player, his speed is fabulous, his fitness is great, his attitude is great, he’s exactly the sort of player you want to build the squad around.”
Ivan Toney makes Tottenham transfer decision
Meanwhile, Ivan Toney is “more than likely” to stay at Al-Ahli despite intense interest from Tottenham.

It is widely believed that Spurs are looking for a new striker in January, following their inconsistent form in front of goal.
However, sources told Football Insider that Toney’s wages would prove to be a stumbling block for Tottenham in their quest to secure his signature.
