Tosin Adarabioyo will ‘never stop’ in reply to Alex Iwobi’s Fulham message

Alex Iwobi caught the attention of past and present Chelsea stars on social media as Fulham suffered a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Crystal Palace, Marco Silva’s last couple of weeks were made worse by a trip to the Emirates Stadium as Bukayo Saka made a timely Arsenal return on 1 April.

Mikel Arteta’s makeshift striker, Mikel Merino, opened the scoring with a smart finish, and after being applauded back onto the pitch for the first time since December, Saka doubled the lead.

Rodrigo Muniz halved the deficit four minutes into the seven minutes of added time, but it was too little too late for the Cottagers to salvage any points before returning to Craven Cottage.

Alex Iwobi remains positive after Fulham defeat at Emirates Stadium

Taking to Instagram [2 April], Iwobi wrote: “Keep going…” after the Cottagers faced defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side at the Emirates, gaining attention online with his new message.

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo replied: “I will never stop, never stop,” with the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Fikayo Tomori and Marcus Thuram all liking the post.

Marco Silva could step away from Fulham this summer

Football Insider verdict

Few supporters expected the Cottagers to get much out of their short trip to North London, but with the form only worsening for Silva’s side, hopes of European football are slowly fading away.

Silva has been linked with replacing Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, and if Fulham are unable to finish higher up the Premier League table, the Portuguese figure has shown his ambition before.

With clashes against Liverpool, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Man City all remaining in the end-of-season run-in, it is difficult to see where the Cottagers pick up points over the coming weeks.

Fulham have only won one of their last five matches in all competitions, and while there were some positives on show at the Emirates Stadium, the team’s momentum has taken a nosedive.

Teams around them, including Newcastle, Villa and Bournemouth, have all struggled over the last few weeks, so there might just be enough time to turn the form around and secure European football.
