Tottenham ace Richarlison confirms extended lay-off in new message to fans
Tottenham forward Richarlison has taken to social media to hint he faces a lengthy lay-off after being forced off with a hamstring injury in their 4-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday (November 3).
The 27-year-old was subbed on for Heung-Min Son after 56 minutes, provided an assist for Dominic Solanke’s second goal, and was promptly replaced by James Maddison after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
Speaking after the game, manager Ange Postecoglu didn’t sound optimistic, saying “Yeah, I know Richy obviously felt something in the action of setting the goal up, his hamstring, so we’ll see.”
The extent of the injury remains unknown, with Spurs assessing the damage ahead of their Premier League clash with Ipswich Town on Sunday (November 10).
Richarlison set for extended spell on Tottenham sidelines
The Brazil international hasn’t started a Premier League game for Spurs since their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at the end of last season.
Reduced to the odd substitute appearance and cup games, Richarlison has only managed to score one goal and provide one assist in 173 minutes across all competitions.
Still, his recent injury is a blow to Postecoglu and Spurs and the forward has taken to Instagram to share his feelings on the setback.

Translated from the original Portuguese to English, the full caption reads, “Difficult moment that will be overcome again. Was very happy training and playing, And suddenly the injury comes again.
“Hard to talk at a time like this, I only ask that you pray for me and that God gives me protection.”
