‘Tottenham’s stance on Thomas Frank revealed after major Ange Postecoglou development’

Tottenham’s stance on Brentford boss Thomas Frank has been revealed, while the North London club are set to part company with Ange Postecoglou.

Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Tottenham will sack Postecoglou after finishing just 17th in the Premier League.

The Australian guided Spurs to Europa League glory, but it wasn’t enough to keep him in the dugout after a woeful domestic season.

Postecoglou’s men lost a whopping 22 Premier League games this season, and owner Daniel Levy will hope for much better next term.

Brentford boss Frank is the frontrunner to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham

Frank has enjoyed a largely successful season in charge of Brentford, guiding the Bees to an impressive 10th-place finish in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, reporting live on talkSPORT [1 June], Alex Crook revealed: “Thomas Frank is one of the leading contenders, we know there’s admiration from the Tottenham board for Marco Silva and for Roberto De Zerbi as well. But I think Thomas Frank is very much the frontrunner.”

Frank’s Brentford suffered two defeats to Spurs in the Premier League this term, but the Bees had a significantly better domestic season than their North London counterparts.

Spurs ended the season in inconsistent form

Although the North Londoners endured a woeful Premier League season, they sealed Champions League qualification thanks to their Europa League triumph.

Frank, who previously managed Brentford in the Championship, could be keen on leading Spurs in Europe next season, and his exploits in West London suggest that he is capable of turning Tottenham’s domestic fortunes around.

Even though Postecoglou’s men performed poorly in the Premier League, they still boast quality players such as James Maddison, who the Brentford boss could be keen to work with.

Furthermore, Tottenham want to sign Eberechi Eze, whose presence would further bolster the talented squad Frank could be taking charge of next term.

Meanwhile, Tottenham News have exclusively revealed that Leroy Sane will pass his medical amid transfer interest from Spurs.
