‘Tottenham set deadline for Thomas Frank appointment after Ange Postecoglou decision’
Tottenham are set to make a swift decision on whether to appoint Thomas Frank after sacking Ange Postecoglou.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Spurs were set to part company with Postecoglou, and the North London side confirmed that decision on Friday, 6 June.
The Australian guided Tottenham to Europa League glory, as they lifted silverware for the first time in 17 years.
However, Postecoglou also led Spurs to a largely woeful Premier League campaign, finishing just 17th in the top flight, which proved enough for Daniel Levy to sack him.

Tottenham set to make Frank decision by next week
After choosing to part company with Postecoglou, Spurs owner Levy now faces the task of replacing the 59-year-old.
Reporting for The Athletic [6 June], David Ornstein wrote: “A decision on a replacement is anticipated next week with Thomas Frank, the Brentford head coach, the leading contender.
“There is yet to be contact made with the West London club.”
Frank guided the Bees to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League, enjoying 16 wins in the top flight this term.
Football Insider verdict
Frank could be keen on Tottenham switch
Since joining Brentford from Danish outfit Brondby back in 2018, Frank has done a remarkable job for the West London club over the years, helping them transition from the Championship to becoming a solid Premier League outfit.
Opponent | Result |
Aston Villa (A) | 2-0 L |
Manchester United (Europa League final) | 1-0 W |
Brighton (A) | 1-4 L |
The 51-year-old steered the Bees to the second-tier playoffs in 2020, eventually clinching promotion to the top flight via a Wembley win a year later.
Furthermore, since occupying a Premier League spot, Brentford have never seriously been threatened by relegation, which is testament to Frank’s managerial skills.
But he has arguably taken the West Londoners as far as he can, and deserves the opportunity to see what he can achieve with Tottenham.
Even though Spurs finished seven places below Brentford this term, the North London club can hand Frank the opportunity to manage in the Champions League, which is something the Bees will likely never be able to give him.
