‘Tottenham are spending big – Daniel Levy has just pulled off brilliant signing’
Tottenham are finally making significant moves in the transfer market after many years of keeping their spending to a minimum.
Chairman Daniel Levy has long been associated with having tight pockets, something that has frustrated Spurs supporters as they watch their Premier League rivals outspend them every year.
However, this summer only Chelsea and Liverpool have spent more than the North London club so far, signalling a change in attitude.
Tottenham forked out £55million to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, and have also brought in last season’s loanees Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso on permanent deals.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that it is great news for Spurs that they are making a dent in the transfer market, and doesn’t think their summer spending has finished yet.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Tottenham are still likely to secure the services of Morgan Gibbs-White, despite Nottingham Forest’s complaints around his release clause being leaked.

‘Daniel Levy trusts Thomas Frank‘
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insists that Tottenham’s spending proves that Levy completely trusts new manager Thomas Frank.
Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in North London after the Australian was dismissed, despite guiding Spurs to Europa League glory.
Wyness joked that Levy must have been replaced, as he is reversing his reputation for being cautious in the transfer market.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Everybody’s saying, Daniel Levy, who is this? Is this the real Daniel Levy? Is there an imposter there?
“He’s actually splashing the cash for Thomas, which shows that he trusts him. There’s a new CEO helping smooth things through as well, getting deals done. I think it’s great news for Spurs.
“The move for Kudus in particular is a good deal and a fair deal. Spurs are showing some interesting signs going into the season, and Thomas Frank will get them settled.
“They’re getting deals done early so that they’ve got that crucial pre-season together. They’ve got some big games coming up soon, Champions League and all the rest of it, so it’s an interesting time down there at White Hart Lane.”

‘Tottenham make Udogie exit decision‘
Meanwhile, Tottenham are reportedly planning to turn down any offers for Destiny Udogie in the summer transfer window.
That is according to their former scout Mick Brown, who claims that the 22-year-old is a key part of Frank’s plans.
Despite growing interest from clubs in Europe, including the likes of Juventus, Spurs are in a strong position to turn down any offers for the left-back.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in April that Tottenham are confident of keeping Udogie while Manchester City were keeping tabs on his situation.
