Tottenham are well placed to agree deadline-busting deals after ‘amazing’ twist
Tottenham have endured a challenging season in the Premier League despite performing well in Europe.
Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday (28 January) in their final league phase game in the Champions League.
That earned Thomas Frank’s side a fourth-place finish and automatic qualification for the round of 16.
However, Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Burnley last weekend left them sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
Spurs chiefs now have a decision to make around strengthening their squad before the transfer window closes on Monday (2 February).

Why Tottenham will be ‘opportunistic’ ahead of transfer deadline
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Tottenham have an “amazing” chance to progress deep into the latter rounds of the Champions League this season.
Tottenham signed midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid earlier this month, while Brazilian left-back Souza has joined from Santos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ transfer activity before the deadline, Borson said: “I think they’ll be opportunistic if something came up, but it’s very hard at this stage to see who the real quality is going to be at this stage of the window.
“But obviously, they’ve got an amazing chance having finished where they finished in the Champions League.

“If you look at how the draw pans out, in the round of 16 they’ve got Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray or Juventus.”
How Tottenham’s relegation fears could impact their spending
Borson insisted Tottenham are well placed to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they consider making more signings.
“I would say that Spurs, even with their difficulties this season, there’s a very good chance that they can be in the quarter-finals of the Champions League,” said Borson.
“On the back of that, you could make an investment, especially given that they do need to bolster the squad for the league situation, just to make sure that they don’t get dragged into the relegation situation.

“I mean, obviously if they were to win at the weekend, I think that would be enough for them to feel very confident about not getting dragged into any sort of relegation battle.
“I think given the Champions League situation, they should put themselves in the mix. But it’s very hard to find a player of the quality that they would want.”
Tottenham are now preparing to face Man City on Sunday (1 February) as they look to rise up the Premier League table.
