‘Tottenham axe key figure as top-class new arrival heads in who I know well’
Tottenham’s summer summer rebuild extends beyond the uncertain future of first-team manager Ange Postecoglou.
In what is shaping up to be a busy few months at Spurs after a season of stark contrasts, the comings and goings will not be limited to the playing staff.
A 17th-place finish in the Premier League – their lowest in England’s top flight since 1977 – was offset by success in the Europa League, where a 1-0 win over Man United handed the north Londoners their first trophy in 17 years.
With Champions League football secured following victory in Bilbao, Spurs are looking to regroup ahead of a 2025-26 campaign that will see them battle on four fronts.
Chairman Daniel Levy is thought to have asked his senior players if he should sack Postecoglou, while his assistant, Ryan Mason, has already left to take on a new challenge as manager of West Brom.
Meanwhile, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on another senior departure.

Venkatesham to take ‘total control’ at Tottenham, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said executive director Donna Marie-Cullen would be “missed” following her departure but insisted a smaller circle of decision-makers can only be positive.
Earlier this week, Spurs confirmed that Cullen has seen her role officially terminated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after nearly 30 years of service.
Alongside Cullen’s departure, Tottenham also confirmed Vinai Venkatesham has been appointed as a director.
The 44-year-old has taken up the position of CEO having previously worked in the same role at rivals Arsenal between 2020 and 2024.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Nearly three decades is a fair old stint in football at this level. I’ve known Donna and she is a great operator.
“She has been a lot of the power behind the throne in terms of the things Spurs have done. She’s a very talented person and she will be missed.
“But I think it’s time to take a pause now and to move on. There’ll be a new chief executive coming in, Vinai, who’s a very good operator.
“He’s known Daniel (Levy) from many conversations between Arsenal and Spurs over the years, so he understands the beast he’s getting involved with.
“It’s good for both of them. To allow Donna to move away now, and to allow Vinai to have total control over the whole series of things, will be important.
“I’ve learned in football, through all the experience and the clubs I’ve been involved in, that the smaller the circle of decision makers, the better.”

‘Son Heung-min to command Saudi transfer premium for Tottenham exit’
Meanwhile, Tottenham captain Son Heung-min could have played his last game for the club with a potential move to Saudi Arabia looming.
The 32-year-old is coming up on his 10-year anniversary as a Spurs player after joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015, but may not even reach that landmark amid rumours of a summer exit.
Spurs triggered a one-year extension to his contract in January, but his lack of impact over the last campaign could push them to let him leave over the coming months.
