Tottenham backed to complete Caoimhin Kelleher move after Sky's Liverpool update - expert
Alan Hutton has suggested Tottenham could make a shock move for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa defender said Kelleher “might fancy” a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 24-year-old will have three years left on his Anfield contract at the end of the season but has made just three first team appearances during this campaign and has struggled to oust Alisson Becker from between the sticks.
According to Sky Sports (11 May), Brentford are targeting Kelleher as they search for potential replacements to current number one David Raya who could leave this summer.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Raya, as well as fellow big six sides including Chelsea and Man United.
But Hutton suggested the Lilywhites could be eyeing up a swoop for the Liverpool shot stopper.

“I definitely think Kelleher will be assessing his options,” he told Football Insider.
“Whenever he has been called upon he has done really well. But I can’t see him dislodging Alisson any time soon. That is the difficult part, he has to just wait.
“Tottenham are possibly looking at Kelleher as well, another big team desperate for a goalkeeper. That is something he might fancy.
“There always comes a time in a goalkeeper’s career where they have to decide if they want to be a number two or are they ready to go out and be a number one.
“I think he is in that position, he is definitely good enough to be a number one somewhere.“
