Finance guru: Tottenham braced for ‘PR fallout’ after Fabio Paratici scolded in wire-tap
Tottenham will be braced for a “PR fallout” following the latest controversy relating to managing director Fabio Paratici’s time at Juventus.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about how Spurs could take collateral damage from the current scandal involving the Old Lady.
The current Juventus board has resigned on mass after the club posted record financial losses and were accused of artificially inflating transfer fees as part of a capital gains scheme.

Per the Daily Mail last Friday (2 December), Italian newspaper La Stampa has also released wire-tap audio of Federico Cherubini, Paratici’s successor at Juve, accusing him of wasting £600m of shareholder cash through reckless footballing decisions.
These included the sacking of managers Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo as well as the 2018 acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Plumley claims that although Tottenham are in no way implicated in any accusations of wrongdoing at Juve, they will be wary of a media backlash.
“There is always a worry that people will make links in terms of where people have worked in the past,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“The club will be mindful of that. You are always worried about any potential PR damage.
“The emphasis is on the individual and not the club, so there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on Tottenham’s behalf.

“It’s something that is linked to developments that have happened in times gone by. But it is still something they will have to be mindful of internally.
“People will make those links and you have to be ready to deal with the PR fallout from that.”
