'Where's the real line up?', 'Poch has lost his mind' - Tottenham fans fume after star performer left out of starting XI

Tottenham fans were left fuming on social media after defender Serge Aurier was left out of the starting XI for their clash with Swansea City.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino chose to leave the French international on the bench, with Kieron Trippier and Jan Vertonghan preferred on the flanks of defence for Saturday’s match.

The Ivory Coast full-back, who was a new arrival in North London this summer, played a starring role during Spurs’ impressive 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

As a result, fans have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns over the 24-year-old’s omission, with many not agreeing with Pochettino’s decision to leave him on the bench.

Spurs have endured a mixed start to the Premier League after finishing as runners up during the last campaign, with wins over Everton and Newcastle marred by defeat to Chelsea and a disappointing draw against Burnley.

However, Pochettino and fans will be hoping that Harry Kane can continue his fine recent goal scoring record after opening his Premier League account with a double against the Toffees, which was followed by another brace against Dortmund.

In other Tottenham news, three Champions League players have been named as targets of Spurs.
