Tottenham could accelerate move to sign ‘flair player’ after what he just did for France
Tottenham have been impressed by the performances of Maghnes Akliouche so far this season and watched him as he scored for France against Azerbaijan.
That is according to former Spurs and Man United senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the club’s recruitment team have been keeping tabs on his performances.
Another Tottenham target, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, also scored for Les Bleus as the club’s scouts will have been impressed by what they saw.
Football Insider revealed in August that Tottenham are admirers of Akliouche and considered signing him after missing out on Savinho and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Capable of playing on either wing or in an attacking midfield position, the 23-year-old fits the profile Thomas Frank wants to add to his side.

Tottenham keeping tabs on Maghnes Akliouche
Football Insider revealed during the summer that Tottenham would have to pay £47.5million for Akliouche, who is regarded among the brightest French talents.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the club remain interested in the winger and have been keeping tabs on his performances.
“Tottenham are looking to sign a flair player on the wing,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s something the manager wants to add to his side, and potentially an attacking midfielder too, so it won’t come as a surprise that they’ve been keeping tabs on him.
“They’ll have watched him for France, and obviously he scored a goal in that game which has done him no harm in terms of that interest.
“I think there are a few players on their radar and I have questions about whether they could get it done.
“It’s difficult to say how much they will be willing to spend in January, but the manager will want to add to his squad and so they’ll be assessing their options.

“Akliouche is very highly rated in France and he’s now playing for the national team, so of course that’s a good sign as far as his qualities go.
“If he keeps impressing, he could definitely be somebody Tottenham go for, because he fits the bill of the players they want to add to their squad.”
Tottenham’s January transfer priorities revealed
The addition of a new attacking midfielder or winger has become a priority for Spurs ahead of the January transfer window, with a number of big names on their radar.
Football Insider revealed on 17 November that Tottenham want to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad following the Spanish club’s poor start to the season.
Kubo would be interested in signing for Spurs given his current side’s struggles, while he has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Tottenham are interested in Ademola Lookman, but would have to pay £50million to secure his signature from Atalanta.
Lookman was linked with a move to Spurs over the summer, but the deal didn’t get over the line, and they could now reignite their interest.
