Tottenham could agree Savinho deal – ‘I expect something to happen in January’
Man City forward Savinho is being backed to depart the club in January where Spurs could reignite their interest.
That is according to ex-Aberdeen and Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states that £50million could be enough for Man City to accept an offer in January.
Spurs pursued a £60m move for Savinho in the summer transfer window, but the transfer did not materialise.
Savinho joined Man City from Troyes in 2024, and the Brazilian has scored four goals and registered 15 assists in 63 appearances for the club.
Savinho deal predicted in January
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks Savinho could benefit from a move away from Man City.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness predicts that Spurs will sign the 21-year-old.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “There are a lot of City fans complaining about him, et cetera, et cetera. But I do think he’s a quality player.
“I think a change of scenery would obviously do him the world of good. And I think it’ll give Spurs a chance to get a better deal with City.
“And I do expect something like this to happen in January. So I do expect probably a bit of not so much cut-price, but certainly lower than expected, maybe around a 50 million mark even with bonuses for a player of that quality.
“And I think a fresh start with Spurs under Thomas Frank with do him the world of good and with these Spurs, the world of good as well. So I expect that will happen. I think it’ll work for both parties.”

Thomas Frank future could change January plans
Savinho’s move to Spurs though could be in doubt after it was revealed that manager Thomas Frank may be blocked from overhauling the squad.
Spurs want to add to their forward options in January, with injuries to the likes of Dominic Solanke and James Maddison hampering the squad.
Frank though is coming under increasing scrutiny after Spurs were thrashed 4-1 by rivals Arsenal and beaten 5-3 at PSG in the Champions League.
Therefore, the Dane may not be supported in January to the full extent he desires, even if he is still backed by the board.
