Tottenham could agree shock crypto naming rights deal – Keith Wyness

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has backed a “big player” in the cryptocurrency world to enter the bidding for stadium naming rights at Tottenham.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted Donald Trump’s re-election will make such a deal attractive for US crypto giants.

Wyness has already told Football Insider (12 December) that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants £25million per annum to rename the club’s state-of-the-art home.

Spurs already have a shirt sleeve sponsorship deal with exchange Kraken, who are also the club’s official crypto & Web3 partner.

According to TBR Football (6 December), Tottenham have already spoken to German logistics company DHL about a stadium naming rights deal.

Tottenham could agree stadium deal with ‘big player’ in crypto, says Wyness

Wyness insisted there will be an influx of cryptocurrency sponsors in English football with a ban on gambling deals set to come in for the 2026-27 campaign.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “The big one in the US is the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

“Given Trump’s position with him coming back in January, and the noise around Crypto being in favour again – I think we might see someone wanting to make a big move in that area.

“I think that will trickle down with smaller sponsorships at other clubs to replace the gambling deals.

“But there will be a big player somewhere who might really fancy the naming rights at Tottenham.

“But if I were Daniel, I would be sticking with DHL if possible.”
