Kieran Maguire: Tottenham could now plug ‘big hole’ and seal ‘substantial bonus’ as deal struck
Tottenham will be in line for a substantial bonus from new sponsor Coca-Cola if they win a trophy during the course of their partnership.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ deal with iconic soft drinks manufacturer.
The North Londoners announced on Thursday (29 September) that they had teamed up with Coca-Cola for a multi-year partnership.
The company have also recently signed a commercial contract with Liverpool.
Bothe teams will cooperate on marketing campaigns with Coca-Cola, while there are also set to be merchandising tie-ins.
Tottenham trousered £184.4million in commercial income throughout 2020-21, the most recent financial year on record.
But they have not won a trophy since 2008’s League Cup triumph
Maguire explains that success on the pitch will come with commercial perks for Spurs.
“Spurs’ stadium, the amount of money they have spent in recent years coupled with the high-profile manager certainly shows that they are part of the elite,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“What they have now got to address is the big hole as far as fans are concerned, which is having trophies to put in the cabinet.

“If they can deliver on that, there are likely to be substantial bonuses from a company like Coca-Cola.
“The reason for that is everyone wants to be associated with success. Coca-Cola are one of the biggest brands in the world and would love to put their product next to some silverware.”
In other news, Alan Hutton claims Tottenham players will be “off-put” by behind-the-scenes approach.
