Tottenham could sanction Steven Bergwijn exit after confirmed news - expert
Tottenham would allow Steven Bergwijn to leave the club this summer, according to Paul Robinson.
However, the former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Spurs will be in no rush to get rid of the 24-year-old.
Bergwijn has struggled for game time this season and has not started a game since January.
Speaking to Dutch outlet AD (1 May), the Netherlands forward expressed his frustration with his lack of minutes in north London.
He added that a summer departure is a possibility with a transfer to Ajax “certainly a possibility.”
Bergwijn has just over three years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When asked for his assessment of Bergwijn’s future, Robinson told Football Insider: “If he wants to move I don’t think the club will stand in his way.
“At the same time, I don’t think he’s a player Spurs will be in a rush to get rid of.
“Bergwijn is a player who I like and really admire. He has had a tough time at Spurs because of the quality they already have in forward areas.
“At the weekend Lucas got the nod ahead of [Dejan] Kulusevski so that shows you where Bergwijn is in the pecking order. Bergwijn has just found himself in an awkward situation because of the quality of player Spurs have.
“He is strong on the ball, quick, can finish and has defensive qualities as well. He certainly won’t go short of a club if he wants to leave.”
