Tottenham could sign Daichi Kamada with ‘deal to be done’ – pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed there is “a deal to be done” for Tottenham target Daichi Kamada this summer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old will be available “on the cheap” thanks to his contract situation.
According to SportBILD (18 May), Tottenham and Sevilla are set to do battle for Japan international Kamada – who is out of contract at the end of next season.
The attacking midfield star has notched nine goals and four assists across 46 appearances in all competitions this term.
Kamada impressed as part of the Eintracht Frankfurt side which won the Europa League this season – defeating Barcelona, West Ham, and Rangers in the process.
Whelan insisted the 25-year-old would be a good signing as he enters his prime years.
When asked if Kamada would fit right in at Tottenham, he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge: “Absolutely.
“I like the way he plays the game. He’s very nimble and energetic, and he’s shown what he can do on the ball as well.
“We’ve seen what he’s capable of in the Europa League with Frankfurt. He’s a player who has had admirers all season in Germany and beyond.
“He’s the right age and he’s coming out of contract so you can get him on the cheap. There’s a deal to be done there.
“He’s coming into the right years and Tottenham need to beef up that squad if they’re going to go far in the Champions League.
“He seems to have a good attitude about him. It’s a bit of a no-brainer.”

Tottenham will play in the Champions League group stage next term.
