Kieran Maguire: Tottenham could now ‘terminate’ Fabio Paratici’s contract as Fifa ban on cards
Tottenham will likely consider terminating Fabio Paratici’s contract if he is banned from football.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Spurs managing director’s involvement in the accounting scandal at his previous club Juventus.
Paratici, who joined Spurs after 11 years at Juventus in 2021, is one of a number of former Juve executives who have received lengthy bans from Italian football for their involvement in the capital gains tax abuses.

As relayed by The Guardian on Monday (23 January), Spurs now fear that Fifa could extend the two-and-a-half-year ban globally, leaving the club without one of their most senior operators.
An appeal against the Italian Football Federation’s verdict will be heard later this year.
Maguire assessed how Spurs could proceed if the ruling does not go in Paratici’s favour.
“Given his seniority at Spurs, it would be operationally challenging,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“While some Spurs fans are unhappy with the quality of the decisions he has made, there is no doubt that he is held in high regard in the game.
“You would also need to ask whether to terminate his contract full stop. Or, is he put on extended gardening leave?

“In that case, how are you going to attract someone to a role where you’re effectively a placeholder?
“It will be an issue for Spurs should it take place, there’s no doubt.“
