Tottenham could yet sign Anthony Gordon amid 'huge' Antonio Conte verdict - pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Antonio Conte will be a bigger draw than European football for Anthony Gordon as he considers a move to Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-West Ham striker said Conte is one of the greats and could tempt Gordon into joining Tottenham.
According to The Sunday Mirror (3 July page 74), Conte’s side are planning a move for the 21-year-old after securing the signature of Richarlison.
The Brazil international joined Spurs from Everton in a £60million deal and the London club are said to be ready to return to Goodison Park to try and sign Gordon.
The winger’s contract on Merseyside runs until the end of June 2025.
McAvennie insisted Conte will be a big factor in Gordon’s decision this summer.

“Conte is a huge draw.” he told Football Insider.
“It’s like going to play for Pep [Guardiola], it’s like going to play for [Jurgen] Klopp.
“Frank Lampard was a wonderful player, he’s a great lad, but he’s not done it in his managerial career yet, so he’s not got that name as a great coach. Conte has, he’s earned the right to go and be up there with the elite.
“I think [Jose] Mourinho’s up there, Klopp, Pep and I think Conte’s definitely up there.“
Gordon played 40 games for the Toffees across all competitions last season.
He scored four goals and provided three assists for Lampard’s side.
