Kieran Maguire cites UK’s richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe as Tottenham deal agreed
Sir Jim Ratcliffe could end INEOs’ relationship with Tottenham if he takes over Man United in the coming months.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ new deal with the automotive arm of the British company.
The North Londoners announced on Wednesday (21 December) that they have signed a multi-year deal for the Grenadier, an offroad 4×4 manufactured by INEOS, to be its official vehicle partner.
INEOS is chaired and co-owned by Ratcliffe, the UK’s wealthiest man.
The 70-year-old has previously been linked with a takeover of Man United, whose owners the Glazer family publicly invited external investment in November.
Maguire suggests that Ratcliffe could force INEOS to cut short their deal with Spurs if he does indeed take control at Old Trafford.
“It looks like Spurs are now following the approach taken by some of the other senior clubs in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“I mean that in the sense that they are signing smaller deals on a more regular basis.

“I also think it’s a good move from the commercial department to have a winter deal with a winter organisation such as INESO.
“If Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is the head of INEOS, ends up buying Man United, it will be interesting to see just how long this deal could continue to be in existence.“
