Tottenham are set to beaten by Liverpool to sign Norwich attacker Jacob Murphy, according to a report.

The Mirror claim that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been monitoring the 21-year-old this season and are interested in signing him, while Everton have also been linked.

The report details that Premier League rivals Liverpool are set to steal a march for Murphy by signing him in January and loaning him back to Norwich for the rest of the season.

Norwich are currently trying to compete for promotion back to the top-flight and are 12th-placed in the league table, seven points adrift of the play-off places.

Murphy has been one of the club’s best performers this season and has made his breakthrough into the first team.
