Tottenham have ended their pursuit of the 20-year-old sensation Malcom, allowing Arsenal to home in, according to a report.
The Daily Mail report that Spurs are ready to prioritise other targets, as Bordeaux are requesting sums of £45million plus to sign the Brazillian winger.
Esporte had previously reported that Spurs had put in a bid of £31million Malcom, but it was knocked back.
This could allow their North-London rivals to sign Malcom, as Arsenal are eyeing a potential replacement to Alexis Sanchez should he leave the Emirates this January.
Malcom has attracted a host of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, due to his ferocious style of play.
The 20-year-old has scored seven goals for Bordeaux this season, from his 20 appearances on the wing.
Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham are missing out on Malcom. The 20-year-old has bags of potential, and seeing him move to the Emirates should a deal go through would hurt the Spurs faithful. The winger has been one of the only flashes of greatness outside that PSG team this season. Malcom has only played for two clubs and the forward has not been capped, yet his pace and strength on the ball are astonishing for someone so young, and with Pochettino’s track record of nourishing young talent – this could have been a match made in heaven.
