Tottenham expected 4-2-3-1 v Hull: 23-year-old mainstay axed in two changes
By Matt Bullin
Mauricio Pochettino could name two changes to his side for their last Premier League game of the season against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Sunday.
Christian Eriksen and Kieron Trippier are likely to return to the starting XI in place of Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko.
Trippier missed out on the Thursday night thrashing of Leicester with a concussion but he should be fit to return to right-back, with Dier dropping out.
Dier, 23, has been a mainstay of the side this term, making 47 league and cup appearances, but the side is more balanced with Trippier in defence, and Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama in the middle of the park.
Meanwhile Eriksen should be fully refreshed after missing out on Thursday and he is likely to replace Sissoko.
Harry Kane is expected to lead the line after his four goals against the Foxes, while Son Heung-min and Dele Alli are likely to start too.
Dembele and Wanyama are likely to continue in the centre of midfield where they have been so successful all season.
Ben Davies will probably continue at left-back as Danny Rose continues to miss out.
Hugo Lloris is expected to start between the sticks, while Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are both likely to continue in the heart of Spurs’ defence.
Pochettino’s side have already wrapped up second-place in the Premier League, but they will be keen to beat already relegated Hull to finish the season on a high.
