Tottenham expected 4-2-3-1 v Man United: Alderweireld returns in two changes
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make two changes for Sunday afternoon’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Argentine boss is likely recall star defender Toby Alderweireld to the starting eleven after making his return in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow.
The 27-year-old came off the bench on the 68th minute for defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama, marking his first appearance since a knee injury suffered in October.
His return is likely to see Eric Dier drop to the bench, while young starlet Harry Winks is expected to suffer a similar fate.
Pochettino is likely to favour experience against a strong United attack and is expected to bring Mousa Dembele back into the team.

Alderweireld is likely to form a back four alongside regulars Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose.
The Belgium centre-backs will be looking to rekindle their impressive partnership at the back, which has seen Spurs boast a strong defensive record in the past year.
Ahead of them will be expected to see Dembele slot in alongside summer signing Victor Wanyama with the pair also forming a good partnership.
The attack is likely to consist of Wednesday goal scorer Dele Alli in between Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen.
The trio will be keen to ask questions of a United defence, which has looked questionable at times without Chris Smalling.
Additionally, the back four will also be threatened by star striker Harry Kane, who has scored eight goals in his last 10 appearances.
Tottenham have won their last two matches against CSKA Moscow and Swansea and they currently sit in fifth place.
Meanwhile, United have failed to win any of their last three Premier League matches and are placed in sixth.
