Tottenham expected 4-2-3-1 v Manchester United: Out-of-sorts senior man axed

By Amir Mir

Tottenham will take on Manchester United in their final match at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

During their previous fixture, Spurs suffered a costly 1-0 defeat away at West Ham which all but ended their Premier League title hopes.

As a result, Mauricio Pochettino could make two changes for the weekend clash, with Kyle Walker and Eric Dier possibly making way for Kieran Trippier and Mousa Dembele.

Current league leaders Chelsea need one more win to clinch the title as they will travel to West Brom on Friday night.

Nonetheless, the out-of-sorts Walker might be replaced by Trippier, with the club’s senior man producing a poor display against the Hammers.

The rest of the defensive line could remain the same, with Alderweireld and Vertonghen hoping to resume their impressive partnership at the back.

However, Pochettino might make a slight adjustment to his midfield, with the powerful Dembele replacing the versatile Dier in the middle of the park.

The Belgian could partner Victor Wanyama, with the free-scoring, Dele Alli hoping to play in behind the striker.

England international, Kane could play up top as he hopes to add to his 21 Premier League goals during his injury-hit campaign.

Attacking duo, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen might keep their places in the side as they could play out wide against Jose Mourinho’s team.
